The Blog Fix Live story
Blog Fix Live started in August 2019 when members of the Facebook Group; “2019 New Bloggers Support Group“, shared their Blogs with other members for a critique. I noticed that sometimes WordPress hadn’t been configured as securely as it should have been. It was then that I decided to help by creating a few training videos on how to do things better.
Soon afterward people in the Group contacted me for further help with their blogs and I decided to make #BlogFixLive a permanent feature.
In the back of my mind, I had always thought that it would be awesome to hold Livestream events and webinars where a community of Bloggers could gather and have any issues solved. I knew that I could stream directly to a Facebook page and to YouTube.
It would have been inappropriate to overwhelm someone else’s Facebook Group so, I decided to create a Facebook Page just for BlogFixLive and create a connected Facebook Support Group.
The temporary domain of blogfix.live that was purchased for use in the creation of the first tutorial videos was developed into the Tutorial Blog that it is today.
Later blogfixlive.com was purchased and redirected to the (dot)live site. This is a method that I always use when purchasing a gTLD (Generic Top Level Domain), as people automatically assume a (dot)com.
I may be a little strange in the way I like to do things because in terms of SEO a (dot)com has a slight advantage. However, I like making use of the less well known and exotic domains to reflect exactly what the site is about.
I have several ideas for the future of Blog Fix Live that may well see other variations of the BlogFix web address (URL)
